The Truth about Hormones

Listen friends I like to keep things real here. For whatever reason people want to keep what they are walking in hush hush. Especially if they are all out of whack. I think its time to rip the veil and share. I hope you’ll join me.

For about a year and a half I’ve been going down down down. Feelings of overwhelming confusion, depression, anxiety that felt like heavy weight on my chest. Complete brain fog and lack of energy. I had become a complete stranger in my own body. I watched a Functional Medicine Doctor on Table Talk w/Joni (You Tube) and was like “Whoa, she’s is speaking right to me.” I highly recommend watching the short program. Plus, I love Joni and Table Talk. Think The View only a sweet kinder Christian version.

Anyway the guest that day was Dr. Terri DeNaui (DNP,APRN, ACNP-BC). After watching I ordered her book called “Hormone Havoc“. I am so thankful for the show that day and even more so for the book. It is an easy to read, not complicated and super easy to understand. I since got a Naturopathic Functional Medicine Doc and I go for natural Bio identical hormones with another. I can honestly say it’s been 3 months with the Naturopathic and 5 weeks with the hormone Doctor and everything is changing and for the better.

No more constant fatigue and sleepless nights. Praise the Lord for natural Progesterone. My energy and mood are far more pleasant. Plus my libido is finally starting to improve six years after menopause with my natural testosterone pellets. Can you imagine how my marriage has suffered during this time? These pellets are implanted in the fatty tissue area of your hip/buttocks. I had no idea women needed testerone. No, I’m not taking so much it’ll make me have face hair or the like. But definitely helping in so many ways.

I’ve heard of men and know of a male chiropractor that had similar symptoms as me and he goes and has the natural Bio identical hormones and is back to being his old self. See here is the thing: Gynecologist and family practice physicians are NOT hormone specialists. They follow a ONE SIZE fits all grid. Finding the right Hormone doc and them helping you find just the right amount of hormone replacements is key.

As for the ND who is also an APRN there are many out there. I had seen Dr. Josh Axe and did a call with one of his folks about a 3-4 month program. Ya’ll it cost $8,000 and they don’t even have you go get any tests. I highly recommend the blood work so your Dr will know exactly what is going on with you. Yes, Dr. Axe’s program focusses on healing on a cellular lever. Already doing that with my ND. Saving me a bundle too. My insurance covers the blood work. He has fair rates. $85 an hour. So, just cause its a famous Dr. ad, your not getting him and his rates are crazy for another one size approach. Just my opinon ya’ll.

Why did this Foodie write about all this? Because I’m hoping that at least one person will read and be able to relate. I’m hoping that I can help someone find some answers that will change everything for them. Getting both the naturopath who is helping with thryroid dissfunction, adrenal fatigue and so many other issues through natural methods and the hormone doctor has truly begun to change my life.

Life is worth living again.
